What is the MFTIP?
The Managed Forest Tax Incentive Program (MFTIP) is a provincial program that allows landowners in Ontario to significantly reduce property taxes on eligible forested land.
Are you eligible to save?
To qualify, you need:
A minimum of 4 hectares (9.88 acres) of forest on a single property. We can plant if needed.
An approved Managed Forest Plan
Be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident

Your land isn’t already receiving conservation land credits
You want to save on taxes while preserving your forest

Not always — 9.88 acres of forested land is the minimum. Increasing the forested area increases the amount saved.

Most plans range from $800 to $1,200. Price is determined by total area, # of compartments and travel distance. We provide a detailed quote after a preliminary review.

Applications are due by June 30 to be eligible for the following tax year.
